Mathematics Progress in Teams

Yesterday started the global rollout of Mathematics Progress in the assignments module of Microsoft Teams for Education. This learning accelerator helps teachers generate maths assignments and insights around them. Maths Progress can help you quickly and easily prepare maths assignments for your students. With this tool, you can quickly have assignments generated in certain categories by AI. Do you prefer to assign your own exercises? That is also possible.

In addition, there are some fine settings that every teacher will appreciate.

  • Showing your work: Students can send their intermediate steps or method they did on paper along with the assignment. Because let's face it, maths usually works best on paper.
  • Pupil/student assessment: Students can rank the questions in terms of difficulty as they felt they did.
  • Order of question in random order: A top feature if you give this assignment in class. This way students do not get the exercises in the same order which avoids cheating for a stretch.

After students submit their assignment, it is automatically assessed and errors detected. As a teacher, you obviously have the final say and can make adjustments where necessary and then return the assignment. Of course, you can consult statistics via the Insights module to then support your class where necessary.

Curious? Then check your assignment module. Maths progress can be found at learning accelerators. Not with you yet? Don't worry, it's coming soon.
