Make your agent!

Creating web-based agents

Recently, Microsoft announced agents; specialised bots that you can build yourself. Until recently, you could only deploy this with a pay-as-you-go model. Last week, however, Microsoft announced that Education Tenants (education users of Microsoft services) can now build and deploy web-based agents for free within their environment. This means you as a school can use this technology internally at no extra cost.

What exactly does this entail?

With the Agent Builder, you can easily build their own web-based agent through Copilot Studio. This will then use information from the internet to answer questions or provide support. For example, think of a virtual assistant answering questions about your school.

M365-based agents

For more the more advanced M365 Grounded Agents that get their info from your data, a Pay-as-you-go model still applies. This means that institutions pay for usage according to the amount and degree of usage.

Agents built by Microsoft

Microsoft is also building its own agents for education, which you will be able to add to your Copilot. So there will be a teaching and learning agent.
